*A Peek at New Cars Rehearsals...*

 

Last week in a storied studio space in New York City, five incredible musicians and geniuses were "workin' it out." The New Cars - Todd, Elliot, Greg, Kasim and Prairie - were blowing the soundproofing off of an intimate rehearsal space when we sat in on rehearsals on Tuesday. In this rehearsal session, Todd worked with the band to run through the structural nuances of his incredible song "Black Maria." The power chords and verses in this pounding rock n' roll opus will send chills through audiences this summer. It was a privilege to watch these incredible musicians at work as they easily ran through material, riffing off one another and joking around. The musical chemistry was undeniable and electric - just wait until you see these guys live!

 

The stage set for the Road Rage 2006: Tour is being built right now in Indianapolis. We saw a cool preview of the stages for Blondie and The New Cars. Blondie will kick things off with a black and white minimalist cityscape backdrop, that will light up more and more as night falls. Then The New Cars will rev things up with a series of giant circular LED screens for video projections, which will all showcase video running throughout the show. It's a vibrant stage set, and the production crew chief explained that Todd is highly involved in all the video production elements. Todd, as all you fans know, is a pioneer of technology and embraces its possibilities - he often takes new media to the edge before anyone has started using it.  From the blistering music to the stunning stage set, all you New Cars fans can expect an amazing show!
