There's summer camp and then there's Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp. This summer, get yourself, and maybe your mates, hooked up on a five-day intensive course in how to be a rock star — even if you have no musical experience. Camp counselors include legends like The Who's Roger Daltrey, Slash from Guns N' Roses, The New Cars' Elliot Easton and Deep Purple's Glen Hughes.
For the $2,000 fee, you'll live like a rock star and be treated as a rock star as you learn about the music business. The camp highlight is a finale concert jamming with your band mates, maybe as the lead singer, the lead guitarist or simply playing a tambourine.
Camp includes instruction from celebrity musicians, the chance to write and play your original song, a DVD of the Battle of the Bands concert, more 10-12 hours of daily jam sessions with your bandmates and rock star counselors (top equipment provided or BYO), daily meals with celebrity musicians and campers, rehearsal time at professional rehearsal studios and lots of chances to get autographs and make photos of guest stars.
Also included are all meals and refreshments, discounts rates on stays in four-star hotels (guest stars stay at the same hotel), transportation between the hotel and studio location, evening activities, camp credentials, and a gift bag (airfare and hotel stay not included). Locations include New York City (July 8), Boston (July 11), Baltimore (July 13), Cleveland (July 15) and Chicago (July 19).
